3d Displacement Field Reconstruction on an Irregular Domain from Planar Tagged Cardiac Mr Images

چکیده
An important application of deformable motion estimation theory is the estimation of heart motion from tagged MR image sequences. In MR tagged images, the heart appears with a spatially encoded pattern that moves with the tissue. The position of the tag pattern in each frame of the image sequence can be used to obtain sparse measurements of the heart's 3D displacement eld. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating a dense displacement eld from sparse displacement measurements that is based on a multidimen-sional stochastic model for the smoothness and divergence of the displacement eld and uses the Fisher estimation framework. The main feature of this method is that the displacement eld model and the resulting estimate equation are deened only on the irregular domain of the myocardium. Simulation results are presented that demonstrate the accuracy of our method and show the eeect of the tag pattern on the estimation error.

X. Deng, T. S. Denney Jr Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, United States Synopsis We present a rapid unsupervised method, called rapid UNTETHER, for computing three-dimensional (3D) myocardial strain from planar tagged cardiac MR images. Our method consisted of two steps: tag line tracking and strain reconstruction. The tag line tracking algorithm is based on a spatial tag detector and a modi...

PURPOSE To reconstruct three-dimensional (3D) myocardial deformations from orthogonal sets of parallel-tagged magnetic resonance (MR) images. MATERIALS AND METHODS Displacement information in the direction normal to the undeformed tag planes was obtained at points along tag lines. Three independent sets of one-dimensional displacement data were used to fit an analytical series expression to d...

A technique is presented for reconstructing a three-dimensional myocardial strain map from a set of parallel-tagged MR images. Radial strains were reconstructed from in vivo data from an anesthetized dog with values between .05 and .1 with a precision of +/- .003 for a tag detection accuracy of .1 mm and a tag spacing of 2.5 mm. The reconstruction spatial resolution was demonstrated by reconstr...
متن کاملPhase-Driven Finite Element Model for Spatio-temporal Tracking in Cardiac Tagged MRI
MRI tissue tagging[1] of the heart produces noninvasive markers within the muscle wall that can be used to measure motion and deformation (Fig. 1a). However, the widespread use of tissue tagging has been limited by time-consuming image post-processing. This paper outlines a method for automatic 3D tracking of LV motion from 2D MRI images acquired from multiple views. Since the tags form a repet...
